So they may have food in thier backpacks for the weekend. Magnum Opus welcomes Antony Whitaker a cutting edge of hairdresser and internationally acclaimed and respected haircutter, educator, motivator and hairdressing businessman. Having now worked in more than thirty countries presenting to in excess of 225,000 hairdressers with his photographic images and articles published in over fifty-trade and fashion magazines he is acknowledged as one of the industries leading educators delivering seminars on marketing, teambuilding, finance, fashion, retailing and hairdressing skills. Antony has won a plethora of international industry awards including twice Australian Hairdresser of the year, as well as numerous awards for marketing, salon design, photography, salon team, educator and the prestigious grand trophy of the professional press.

 

January 2011 / Edwin Johnston

 Magnum Opus welcomes International Artistic Director Edwin Johnston to the salon for a two day advanced haircutting and styling workshop this winter. Edwin has traveled all over the world as an educator, motivator and session stylist. Some of my personal favorites include, Australia, China, New Zealand, Spain and the United States. He works each season designing many looks for ads and education. His work has been featured in many trade and consumer magazines and is constantly in demand to create new collections. Edwin has won the Contessa Award for British Columbia Hairstylist of the Year three times, (2000, 2001 and 2005) and the 2005 Canadian Multicultural Hairstylist of the Year. On July 17, 2004, I received the North American Hairstyling Award (NAHA) for Contemporary Classics.

October 2010 / David Stanko

Magnum Opus was very proud to welcome David Stanko to the salon for an amazing two day advanced color workshop. David is one of New York’s premier colorist’s David exercises his wide range of gifts and focuses on haircolor and Redken Chemistry. First, he invents new ways to use the technology of haircolor in transforming how the world sees a person. Then it's his job to teach other salon professionals to see beyond the technology of that process to the artistry of their final work. And, clearly, he knows what he's doing. David's haircolor work has been featured in the pages of top fashion publications, including Vogue, Glamour, InStyle, Latina and Elle.

Charitable Outreach

For years Magnum Opus has been focused on giving back to the community. Nearly every day of every week the salon donates gift certificates to the schools and charity organizations in our community. We understand that it is difficult to fund our schools and organizations... so we are honored to be able to help.

If your school or non-profit organization is scheduling an auction to raise money, let us know and we would be glad to help. Simply send us a self addressed stamped envelop and a letter noting the event with date/time and we will mail the gift certificates for your event.

Locks of love

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Magnum Opus is proud to support the Locks of Love charity on an on-going basis by sending much needed hair to those in need. Magnum Opus also participates annually in local Locks of Love fundraisers.
